Once you meet Lucas,
you aren’t going to forget him any time soon. He has a strong personality

to be when you manage a motocross team and compete yourself. When he isn’t
tearing up the track he is annihilating various foes on one video game or
another. A true team player whether with customers or his online gaming
buddies. |

Account Executive
Kimmee is known to
tell amazing jokes. Always one to make you smile, the phrase "lights up
a room" was coined for her. She can recite all the lyrics to many
popular '80s songs and may sing them to you if you are lucky. She can often
be found out and about in Southern Illinois on the kickball field kicking
balls, out taking amazing photographs for people or on a crazy adventure with
her son. |
Warnings: May regale
you with stories of her son. May start talking in many different Southern
dialects. May try to get you to eat crazy Cajun food. |

isn’t at Silkworm she can be found working in her yard and flowerbeds,

Samantha Shumate

Sam Shumate will never let you walk away without a smile. She’s an obvious cheerleader with her positive and happy outlook. Having gone to school for music, everyone wants to hear her sing and she’s not shy about it. She came to Silkworm to be part of a company that is active in the community and has a great team spirit, which she cheers on every second. When not at work, you can find Sam hangin’ with her nephews and niece or enjoying time with her husband and dogs, who are more like children to her.

Graphics Team Leader

A shrewd decision maker, only taking 17 months, 12 days and 2 hours to finalize the purchase of a new vehicle, though we could also chock that up to being thorough. She is also a solver of computer problems on a near-daily basis. And an animal lover with affinity for cats and rubber duckies. When not in the graphics department you can find Chi at local wineries and art fairs.

Tony Phillippe
tony@silkwormink.com |
Senior Graphic Artist
Tony is known to be one of the head graphic designers at Silkworm. Tony has no choice but to be ahead of the game always from the most recent t-shirt trend to the oldest trick in the book. Best known for living in the past and reminding everyone that he used to win by a head in every race he ever ran. His coworkers also think he has a large cranium.

Warnings: He will bite and may try the alligator roll several times until he gets down (to the sounds of the 80’s).

Dan Brown |
dan@silkwormink.com |
Senior Production Artist

Dan is actually on his second tour of duty at silkworm. Lucky for all of us, while living in Chicago he found himself longing for home and has since made his way back to the chair of senior production artist. When not hard at work he can be found sorting through his 10,000+ collection of comics or volunteering his time at the Liberty Theater.
Warnings: He has been known to overwhelm coworkers with his personable lovability, especially before 9am.

Michael Black
artist@silkwormink.com
Graphic Artist
One of our many Mikes, this one is currently managing his hours working at the Worm part time creating awesome designs, being a full time student at SIUC working on his bachelors degree and he be a bad mambo jambo guitar player (or so we were told). Mike is known to be an extremely friendly individual and willing to do whatever you ask of him (work related) in a timely manner and meeting deadlines. The high level of enthusiasm and energy he exhibits shows characteristics usually known only to those whom are over medicated, over caffeinated, or of the "boxer" breed.
Warnings: He may ask to help you wherever he can, while juggling and rubbing his stomach at the same time. It is weird but impressive.

Victoria Heine |
victorialh@silkwormink.com |
Graphic Artist
Glass blower extraordinaire, part time zombie, full time gossip and she even finds time to come to work. If Victoria looks familiar to you, it may be because she scared the living daylights out of you at a haunted house. If it can be done she's probably already done it. Her philosophy is if it exists she can make it out of glass.
Warnings: She is not afraid to punch you in the kidneys if the situation calls for it. On the other hand she would probably help you afterward.

Michael Deponai |
proofing@silkwormink.com |
Proofing Coordinator
This Mike tends to go by his last name and is the person you talk with to make sure your artwork is correct. Deponai seems to believe he is the heroic character featured in the Masters of the Universe franchise. In most variations of the franchise he is the alter ego of Prince Adam and also the twin brother of Chuck Norris. Deponai and his friends defend the Worm and the secrets of the golden squeegee from the evil forces of Skeletor.

Warnings: He might have the ability to hoist objects/people through a dimensional doorway.

Thomas Henderson |
prodpurchasing@silkwormink.com |
Traffic
Traffic seems like an odd position title, but it makes sense at Silkworm where Thomas is the go between for Graphics and Production. Thomas can only be described as a character. He has a sense of humor that can only have been produced by years of listening to recordings of stand-up comedians. He used to work in production, then the screen room and has now worked his way up the ladder to a part of the building with air conditioning and heat.
Warnings: Don’t even try to keep up with his humor; he is the master of non sequiturs.
