As computers become more wide-spread and software
becomes easier to use, many of our customers are providing our Graphics
Department with finished designs. We are often impressed with the quality
work we receive. But, while many programs are fun and easy to use,
their
files can be difficult to translate into production ready films.
We offer these suggestions for SUBMITTING*
your design:
If you wish to send artwork (CD or email), please send it in one of the following programs and include a hard copy, color if possible, info on colors, & preferred imprint size.
The Art Dept. is equipped with Macintosh
computers. The following is a list of applications we are compatible with:
(this
is our primary graphics program) Convert all fonts to paths
Name spot colors as PMS colors
All halftones should range from 15-70%
Please include all placed tif images
Convert fonts to outlines
Name spot colors as PMS colors
All halftones should range from 15-70%
Please include all placed tif images
This should only be used when printing a 4-color process (CMYK) print on lights, or for providing a 1-color placed tif. This program can be used for simulated proc. or indexing on dark garments, but please consult our Graphics Supervisor before you send it in this format. Save as a TIF or PSD file, 300
dpi @actual size (stuff file or electronic transfer if too large)
Type that is set in PhotoShop doesnt print well unless the
art is created at actual size & the resolution is 300 dpi or higher,
so please include all fonts so we can set the type in a vector program.
PhotoShop files often require more art time to translate into screen
printable art.
JPG files are used as Reference only - not for screenprinting reproduction due to their quality. Additional art charges are required.
Some files may be required to be submitted in layers
* With ANY electronic art
all type fonts need to be converted to paths OR included (include
both screen and printer font if its a postscript font).
* Artwork that is faxed to us is sometimes not clear. A mailed
copy is preferred.
